So First off the big news... which I'm not completely thrilled with (sigh)WE SOLD OUR HOUSE! I'm not sure if that is meant to be excited or scared! So after 4 showings and all of the family members, dogs, uncles mouse saw our house and so forth, they put in an offer. We went back and forth a couple of times and they excepted it on Saturday. So now we will be officially homeless as of Dec. 19th. I'm really sad I won't get to decorate for Christmas! Joel thinks I should put that Michael McLean song "Homeless" from his Forgotten Carols album on the blog. It's quite fitting. We still need to show the house for the next ten days in case the inspection doesn't go well, which is super annoying. Today at 1:30 they called to see the house from 1:30-2:30! Are you kidding me!!! I have a toddler taking a nap and they want me interrupt my quiet time! So I declined it. I am so sick of showing my house I could scream! GRRRRRRR!!!
On a lighter note, Joel's parents are flying in this Saturday and Joel will be coming on Monday for Thanksgiving. We will be busily eating turkey and packing. FUN FUN FUN, but the funnest part of this week will be watching TWILIGHT!!! Can't wait! Then I will be on my own for a couple more weeks and back to Idaho for Christmas! It will be so nice to have a white Christmas!
NYC
At the beginning of this month we went to NYC for a long weekend. It was amazing! I've never been and have always wanted to go there in the fall. We stayed with Joel's amazing cousins from Argentina (Gustavo) and Uruguay (Rossana). They live in an apartment in Manhattan and were just blocks away from all of the sights. We went to Magnolia Bakery, Time Square, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (incredible! We didn't have enough time to see everything), Wicked, SoHO, China Town, Little Italy, and part of Central Park. The NYC marathon was going on so we couldn't really walk around and didn't have enough time. I have to add a funny story about Wicked. I've really wanted to this play for awhile. All of the tickets were $120+ so we weren't going to go. We were at the ticket hub in Time Square and what seemed to be a homeless woman with 2 teeth came up to us w/ tickets for wicked. She was hilarious! She said she would give them to us for $80, so we walked across the street w/ her to an ATM. I kept saying, "How do we know these tickets are good?" and she said "come meet this hot dog stand guy, he's known me for 20 years." So the hot dog guy says in broken English " Buy the tickets, is good." that made me feel a lot better! So we tell her we want to talk about it, and she paces back and forth and finally offers them to us for $60. We're still not sure so she introduces us to another guy who looks a lot more official and we decided to get the tickets. The tickets were good and the show was AMAZING! Loved it! So did Joel, so go see it. Gracias Rossana y Gustavo para todo! Era muy lindo!
This is getting super long, so I'll just add a few pics from our trip and go to bed!

Wow!! Great pictures and I very exciting post. When are you coming out?
wow! congrats on selling your home! sad to say goodbye but what a relief to be back with joel again! love your nyc pics, and i'm so glad you finally got to see wicked!
i'm so glad that Toothless McGee turned out to be honest. Good work listening to the hot dog vendor. It is well known that they are the most honest of all the street vendors. Sounds like a fun trip. I've always wanted to go there too. If I ever do, I'll definitely have to look out for your sweet ticket connections.
Congrats on the sale of your house. I'm sure it has mixed emotions, but it will be awesome to be a united family again!
SO GLAD you sold your house! Thats soooo frustrating! And the tickets... thats stinkin funny! What you didnt trust the hot dog stand guy, he's credible! Glad things are moving forward for you guys, good luck being homeless for Christmas;0)
I'm glad you sold your house. I know how stressful that can be. Maybe I will see you at Christmas seeing how your parents are in my ward. I love NYC and would love to take Ben there. I went in High School w/my mom and sisters...GREAT GIRLS TRIP! I think I'm going to start saving my money to go again. Nice job on the tickets, I'm glad they were good.
Awesome! I've always wanted to go to NYC. That's a funny story about your Wicked tickets. I wouldn't have known what to do either. Anyway, so now what? Are you guys looking for a house in Utah? What's the plan after your homeless Christmas?
hey sid! it's been a while since i checked your blog, it looks like you've had lots of excitement! your kids are so dang cute! i can't believe how much they've grown even since we saw you this summer! give us a call if you have time when you're here for Christmas, we'd love to see you! i love you story about the Wicked tickets, so funny!
Hey Sid, Yeah I should definitely make my blog private. All the other stuff I'm on is fine, but the blog stuff is a lot more scary because we include stuff about our kids and pictures and details about lots of stuff! Oh and please spare yourself the waste of time it would be to read those poems, unless you want a good laugh which is what I did when I read them again. I thought I had taken them down, but apparently not because that website is offering the whole world access! So are you excited for Vernal? Chad and I are excited because we'll get to see you guys more, but I'm sure it will be a huge change compared to where you've been living! We wish you the best!
hey sid, thank you for calling! i will call you soon and we can catch up! i'm SOO excited you'll be home for Christmas... ME TOO!!!! Finally, we get to see each other!!!! Oh, and Vegas is 3 hours away from us give or take depending on traffic... let's talk about it... but we'll make plans for Christmastime!!! love you!! PS congrats on the house sale!! that's AWESOME in this economy.
First I just have to give props to Joel and his preppy sweater around the neck look, and to that awesome looking hot dog and fries. Those pictures were great! I want to go back!
Second, well actually don't get me started about the move...I might tear up. BUT, I am happy for you and that you sold your house.
I'm so happy for you guys that you sold your house and completely jealous that you went to NYC! I need a vacation! Glad you had such a great time.
Congratulations on selling your house! We will miss you so much, but hopefully will still be able to see you once in a while.
I didn't even know you went to NYC. That is awesome! I'm glad you were able to go.
I hope you guys have a Happy Thanksgiving!!
Sidney is leaving out huge gaps of great "True" story...!!! Yes Samira the two toothed one (I figured I would spell out two instead of just using the number 2 because it sounds better) sweat us for about 30 minutes, until we bought the tickets. She pulled an envelope out from the crotch region from which various tickets emerged. And she kept on eluding that my cousin Gustavo and I looked like cops...my cousin might give off that vibe/look but I was deeply offended since that is probably the most offensive thing someone can call me. As Sidney said NYC was awesome!
Congratulations on selling your house!!! That really is a big accomplishment right now! I'm so happy for you that you get to start living a "normal" family life again. You know where the wife and kids get to live with the hubby. :0) You were a great trooper these past months. Good Luck with the move!
And I as well am jealous of your trip to NYC! That sounded like crazy fun. A toothless homeless ticket scalper lady?! Classic! My dream is to go there at christmas time..quite possibly even for new years so I can stand amongst MILLIONS of people.
Hi Sid! Congrats on selling your house! I am going to be a "single mom" starting in June, so I am going to be feeling your pain! It's fun to see the pics of you and your family! Your family is beautiful!
congrats on selling the house! N.Y. looked amazing how fun.
