Looking Your Age...

So I have to vent. I have had a gazillion comments ever since I moved here about my age. Everyone thinks I'm a teenager! The first time was when some high school kids came to my house to sell something and asked me "Is your Mom or Dad here".Let's just say I didn't buy what they were selling! Then after I had Allegra, we went to dinner w/ our friends Seth and Betsy. They have a little boy two days younger than Alley. So we were waiting for our table and an older lady asked Betsy if both of the babies were hers. Betsy said explained that one was hers and one was mine. The lady looked at me and said, "No, you couldn't be older than 16!" I've had a few other comments since then but then this last Friday we were at Sam's Club and the girl checking me out said "Wow, you look really young. Like your 17 or something!" What in crap people! They are so rude! So I said "Actually I'm 28. But maybe when I'm 40 and I look like I'm 30 I'll appreciate that comment." Maybe I should just embrace it. I should start saying, "yeah I'm 16. Being a pregnant teenager really sucks!" I don't know, I really shouldn't care. It's the lack of respect that really pisses me off! Come on people. I wear my wedding ring and have two kids. At least say I'm 21! I guess when I'm out running my errands people just look at me and think that I'm some hussy teenager that got knocked up a couple of times. EEEEEEERRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!

So I have a two part question.
1- Give me some good comebacks.
2- I'm attaching two pictures. One w/ short hair and one w/ my current long hair. Do I look older w/ short or long hair?

Happy Birthday Mom!

Well, you know what I have always thought was super cool? The fact that my Mom and Dad's birthdays are two weeks apart AND they were born the same year... 19_ _ (okay I won't write it out! :) AND they were high school sweet hearts, okay just the last part of their senior year. I really think their story is fun. My dad was the cool drummer in his band "The Decades" (is that right?) and my mom was the mascot for the Bonneville Bees. Which is very appropriate because she can be pretty feisty let me tell you!!! So here is what I love about my Mom.

1. I remember her always wearing Obsession. I remember getting homesick for her when I was little because they went out of town a lot and I would smell her great leather jacket because it smelled just like her!
2. She is really pretty. I love her smile.
3. She has a great laugh.
4. My mom is just a little thing, but she's got a big attitude. She loves those shoot em' up shows. I vividly remember her always watching Predator and Terminator. Probably because she grew up w/ all boys!
5. When we were growing up, she could crack the whip and get us all doing our chores. I secretly liked that little tin chore box w/ the very detailed lists of what to clean. Then she would check it, and if it wasn't good enough we had to do it again.
6. She loves the ocean.. just like me. Maybe I get it from her.
7. She is a little rebel in disguise. She loves to drive fast and just do things that you wouldn't expect from her.
8. She is stubborn... so am I.
9.She is probably the reason why I fell in love w/ Patrick Swayze. (Trust me, it was a sick addiction. Carol Mortimer and Lara can attest to the lipstick marks on the posters of him in my room!) We watched Dirty Dancing a lot!!! Also, Pretty Woman. I will always remember watching these shows w/ her.
10. She knows how to have fun.
11. She is a really good cook. I love her spaghetti, Suki yaki (no idea how to spell that one), chicken and dumplings, ... the list could go on.
12. She loves fresh vegetables and fruit. I have fond memories of stopping at the fruit stands on the way home from SLC and then going home and eating them when we got home. AAAAHHH the corn and yes, even the cucumber in vinegar.
13. She's got a strong addiction to salt. Just don't share a lemonade w/ her at the Training Table, trust me on this one.!
14. She also has crazy cravings, but for your sake mom, I won't go into it!
15. She loves nature and especially Taylor mountain. Because it is so close to your heart Mom, it will always be special to mine.
16. We've had amazingly fun girl trips to SLC.
17. Adding onto #16, I really had fun driving to Oregon w/ her in her little forest green Mazda MX6. That was crazy fun driving that car, even w/ the car troubles and delays.
18. She loves to shop!
19. She took great care of me whenever I got sick. That whole mono thing... Thanks for all your help mom!
20. She is the most accident prone person I have ever known!!! I would explain, but that could take hours! She's given us lots of laughs but at least she's a good sport!
21. And last but not least, my Mom is very loving and caring. She will talk to anybody which is a great quality. She came from a poor struggling family and worked hard on the farm. So she can relate to others in many ways. She has struggled a lot w/ her health and just trials in life, but she has a testimony of the love our Savior has for her. I love you mom! I am so grateful for the wonderful opportunities and experiences that I have had because of you and dad!!! I hope you have the best birthday ever!

P.S. You are only as young as you feel!!! So I guess that makes you 38 and holding right? Age doesn't matter! Just celebrate life! And yes you are beautiful inside and out!

Happy B-Day Dad!

Well, What can I say about my dad? Let's just get the list started so you can see what I love about my Dad!

1. He is very successful and looked up to in his realm of business. (Too bad that hasn't rubbed off on us yet!)
2. He is loyal and steadfast.
3. He has been a great support to his parents.
4. He chews his food very thoroughly. I mean like 30+ chews per bite people!
5. He has taken us all over the world because of his company.
6. He's created a lot of fun-filled vacations and memories for us.
7. He's a great singer :)
8. He's good at playing the drums, especially his steering wheel drum :)
9. He was always there for me and sat through many a boring drill team competitions for me!
10. He went to Hawhorne and also knows how to speak Hawhorne and diboibule diabutch (that's double dutch for those who have not been as far educated as my father and I!
11. He knows how to relax and have a good time and laugh at his crazy kids.
12. He stayed home from church w/ me when my cat Baden got fried in the dryer and was dying. I'll always remember the story about Blackey!
13. He took us out on fun little adventures: boating, snow mobiling, motorcycles.
14. Great times at the cabin!
15. He keeps up on all of our birthdays! Very responsible!
16. He likes to give people crap! And lots of it.
17. He is very detail oriented.
18. He is very intelligent and wise.
19. He is a hard worker.
20. And last but not least... I have always been a daddy's girl. I have just always loved to spend time with my dad. He is very protective and loving. Although he can be a hard-ass sometimes (sorry Dad, but it's true! I mean that in the best way possible), he has a good heart! He has been there for me all through growing up and I love all of the wonderful memories that he and my mom have given me! I really love you dad!!! I hope you have a great birthday you old fart!!!!

My Blogging Prayers Have Been Answered!

Hey so to all of you fellow bloggers out there, my friend Hillary put out a website on her blog that allows you to download your blog onto a website and make it into a book! We have added four legs to our family!

Well, I did it. I flew by the seat of my pants and got a little puppy on the spur of the moment last Tuesday! My friends Mike and Jen called me to tell me they were giving out free puppies at the YMCA. So I drove over there right after I got Gianluca from school. I called Joel on the way and said "would you be really mad if I brought home a puppy?" Joel has always been a dog lover, but has been wanting to wait until we have a bigger yard for the dog to play in. He said I could get it if Mike and Jen watched it when we go out of town. They agreed. So, I got there and there were 13 puppies! The mom is a golden retriever and the dad a black lab/border collie mix. So she should hopefully only get to 40-60 pounds. Half of the puppies were golden and the other ones black. The only ones left were the some black puppies. That worked out because Gianluca wanted a black dog anyways. I asked him what we should name her (only girls were left) and he said "The Flying Dog". She is so mild and sweet. So we decided to name her Bella, The Flying Dog! The poor thing has dermatitis (of course I didn't realize this until we got home) and is on antibiotics to clear it up. But other than that she is a great dog! She has only had 2 accidents in the house, but is going poo poo and pee pee great outside. She is getting plenty of love from the kids. Allegra makes sure everyone knows that she is "my buppy!" In the middle of the night she was crying and I went in to see what was wrong and she kept saying "puppy, puppy!" I guess she is so happy that she just can't get enough of her! Alley has always been infatuated by dogs. Whenever we are at the park and there is a dog, she goes crazy over it. She also always tries to go across the street to see the neighbors dog. Gianluca love getting Bella to chase her around and sleep with her. She is quite the little snuggler. So we are a complete family now. We have a boy and a girl and a dog! Who could ask for anything more!

Happy Birthday Kristin!

Well I just wanted to wish one of my amazing friends a happy birthday! Kristin is the first friend I made here in Houston. Joel and I happened to sit behind her and Matt the first Sunday we went to church and they turned around and invited us to dinner that very day!! Really, who does that? They have become some of the closest friends we've ever had. So here is what I love about Kristin:

1)She has an amazing heart and would do anything for anybody.
2)Kristin is so great at helping out and giving good advice.
3) She really is so understanding.
4)She is very laid back and non-judgemental.
5) She always likes to include people.
6)She is very considerate.
7) She knows how to have a good time.
8) She has a great laugh!
9) She is an amazing mother.
10) She has a lot of inner-strength (whether she knows it or not).
11) She is a loyal friend.
12) Beautiful inside and out!
13) Oh, Great Cook!!!! We've had many a yummy dinner at her house!

You know what else is great about Kristin, she always surprises me. To be honest, when we sat behind them that first Sunday we moved here (I can't believe I'm saying this) I thought that they were possibly going to be a more uptight type of people. But when we actually started to talk to them and see how really open and honest and loving they are, I instantly wanted to be friends. Kristin always looks so put together, you would never think there was any crazy wild streaks to her. But she knows how to have fun and let loose. She knows how to stand up for herself and those that she loves. We have so much in common and I know she will always be there for me, as I will always be there for her! I love you girl! Happy B-day!
