Saturday was South Jordan's Country Fest day. It was so much fun! Since Joel was out of town I hung out with my good friends Beka and Kent Madsen and their three kids. We went to the parade where the kids got way to much candy, then we went to the Mutton Bustin event where Allegra, Emmett, and Ollie did a stick pony race (Allegra came in dead last, no surprise with her granny run!) and then Gianluca and Tyse road the sheep. Tyse did well and probably lasted a good 5 seconds. Gianluca's sheep took off to the left and I'm not sure really what happend. All I know is Gianluca had a cut on his eye and said that the sheep stepped on his eye. He said "I curse mutton bustin! I never ever want to do that again!" So sad, since he was so excited to do it before. Well at least he got two $2 bills for his tramatic experience! However I'm pretty sure Joel is happy that his son does not want to lead the rodeo life. Joel has also vowed never to go to a rodeo in his life... Like father like son.

So awesome! Sounds like a fun time. Unlike Joel, I love the rodeo and can hardly wait until Jake is old enough to do muttin busting. He wanted to this year, but wasn't old enough. I'm sure I could have lied due to his size, but I can wait. Must be the redneck in me. =)
This is Joel on Sidneys account. All I can say is I apologize and deeply regret I wasn't there to save Gianluca from this redneck tradegy!! Poor Dude got his clock cleaned by the corner of the gate, while some broke back mountain city slicker just stared! Gianluca I promise I will be there for you and help you reason and use common sense in order to avoid such an atrocious attack on logic!
Holy Cow!!! That was pretty intense! Diego would still be crying. Way to go Gianluca!!!
It's almost too bad he has given up on the cowboy life. The kid took it like a cowboy. He obviously got the smack whipped out of him, but he stood up, sauntered over to you like, "what, no big deal, just a little blood and sheep shi-oot." If he is giving up cowboy, he'll have to be an action hero or football player, we just can't waste that tough of stuff on accounting or spread-sheeting.
Wow! That was a serious ride. Dylan made me play it and replay it and then told me he would not be riding a sheep any time soon.
I like Joel even more after his comment. Even with my rodeo roping star cousin, I'm not a big fan.
But, Wow! Gianluca does have a great story to tell! The video cracks me up!
lol, that's awesome! he's a brave kid :) wish i could have been there to go with you guys!
this is so hilarious to me. like i can't stop laughing. seriously.
